Prelude

The Prelude Orchestra, under the direction of Mrs. Elizabeth Hicklin, is an intermediate level orchestra where students regularly rotate chair seatings, encouraging exploration, leadership and musicality while playing as part of a whole.

The Prelude Orchestra is for students ages 9 to 15. Though the majority of students fit into these age groups, upon request, exceptions are considered on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of the Board, in consultation with the conductors.

The Prelude Orchestra rehearses from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the College Park Baptist Church (CPBC), 1914 Edgewater Drive, Orlando, FL 32804. Members meet in the CPBC’s Children’s Wing, found downstairs in the main building.

No qualifying student will be turned away from the FSYO because of an inability to pay tuition. The FSYO fundraises to provide tuition payment financial aid for musicians whose families demonstrate need. Financial aid is not available for the Audition Fee, concert tickets or uniform cost. Please contact the FSYO office to request a Financial Aid Application.
