A beloved Central Florida holiday tradition reaches a new milestone this season as Central Florida Ballet (CFB) celebrates the 25th annual production of A Christmas Nutcracker Tale with an exciting first: live orchestral accompaniment by Florida Symphony Youth Orchestras (FSYO).
A spectacular reimagining of the holiday classic, A Christmas Nutcracker Tale has earned national acclaim. USA Today dubbed it “the pyrotechnic Nutcracker,” while CNN Headline News praised it as “one of five outstanding productions in the entire nation.” Orlando Sentinel critic Matt Palm called the production “a whiz-bang affair,” highlighting its “colorful costumes, pyrotechnics and a stunning aerial ballet” that enliven the traditional tale.
This year, Tchaikovsky’s iconic score will come to life with FSYO's Symphonic Orchestra providing live music led by Music Director, Charles Watford.
Coinciding with FSYO’s landmark 70th Season, the collaboration will bring together more than 200 dancers and musicians, performing alongside internationally acclaimed professional ballet artists from leading companies around the world. The partnership combines world-class artistry with the energy and talent of Central Florida’s next generation of performers, creating an extraordinary holiday experience on the Steinmetz Hall stage.
