ORLANDO, FL - On Tuesday, June 27, 2023, Florida Symphony Youth Orchestras (FSYO) students, families, and staff will embark on an experience of a lifetime for a Concert Tour around Italy. Travelers will spend 12 days exploring multiple Italian cities (Milan, Pavia, Cremona, Venice, Florence, Perugia, Assisi, Orvieto, Rome) with performances taking place in Pavia, Venice, Perugia, and Rome. This trip is an immersion into Italian food, music, and breathtaking landmarks like the famous Palazzo del Comune which is the home to many original Stradivarius instruments. Repertoire includes pieces by Italian and American composers such as Gershwin, Puccini, and Rossini. This year, FSYO Touring Orchestra will be joined by its Tour Jazz Band on this Tour.

Concerto for Clarinet, a work by American Clarinetist Artie Shaw, will feature one of FSYO’s 2022 Concerto Competition winners, Aidan May. This piece, along with four others, highlights a collaboration between classical and jazz music that is a cornerstone of this tour program and FSYO’s ongoing efforts. May recently performed the piece with members from FSYO’s Alphonse Carlo Jazz Band and Symphonic Orchestra at the 66th Season Classical Finale in May 2023 and the Tour Send Off Concert. While in Rome, students will be introduced by Rome's Mayor, Roberto Gualtieri. FSYO students and staff are excited to be welcomed to Italy.

FSYO TOURING ORCHESTRA PLAYS MIAMI - NORTH BEACH BANDSHELL

FSYO Touring Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Hanrich Claassen, has performed in New York, Austria, China, and now, they are coming to Miami to take over the North Beach Bandshell for the first time. The concert will feature well-known classics and fun pop favorites from Stravinksy to Gloria Estafan, Louis Armstrong, and more! Join us for an exciting concert that the whole family will enjoy!

FSYO's Touring Orchestra Plays Beijing - The Forbidden Concert Hall

Music Director and Symphonic Orchestra Conductor, Hanrich Claassen will lead FSYO's Summer 2019 Touring Orchestra for a performance at the prestigious Forbidden City Concert Hall.

The Forbidden Concert Hall, one of the upscale concert halls for performing arts in China is a part of the Forbidden City Complex. The concert hall is well equipped with world-class stage facilities to meet various needs of performing art groups.

Forbidden City Concert Hall is a 1,419-seat multi-purpose venue in Beijing. The name of the venue came from the fact that it is located within the grounds of the Beijing Zhongshan Park, a vast former imperial altar Shejitan and now a public park located to the southwest of the Forbidden City and in the Imperial City.

FSYO's Touring Orchestra Plays Xi’an - Concert Hall of Xi'an Conservatory

Music Director and Symphonic Orchestra Conductor, Hanrich Claassen, will lead FSYO's Summer 2019 Touring Orchestra for a performance at the prestigious Concert Hall of Xi'an Conservatory.

This concert hall, newly built in 2017, has professional facilities and is located within the Xi’an Conservatory. With its grand opening in 2018, the venue proudly hosted Berlin Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra recently.

FSYO's Touring Orchestra Plays Hangzhou - Zhejiang Concert Hall

Music Director and Symphonic Orchestra Conductor, Hanrich Claassen will lead FSYO's Summer 2019 Touring Orchestra for a performance at the prestigious Forbidden City Concert Hall.

Located in the heart of the city, the Zhejiang Concert Hall is one of the top 3 venues in Hangzhou. The hall has an excellent acoustic for both orchestra and choirs with a recently finished refurbishment of both interior and exterior. The modern and well-equipped Zhejiang Concert Hall seats 646 and has hosted over 150 concerts.
