Donna McCue, the mother of three Florida Symphony Youth Orchestra alumni, will serve as president of the organization’s board of directors for the 2012-2013 concert season. Since her children graduated from FSYO in 2002, she has worked as Senior Chemist for Orlando Utilities Commission, monitoring drinking water quality and the environmental waters of the Stanton Energy Center.
“We are very proud of our history, our alumni and of the young musicians who make up the FSYO,” Donna said in accepting her office. “Their talent and discipline inspire us as parents, staff and directors to work hard to ensure that they continue to receive the quality education and performance opportunities that FSYO is known for.” She credited the organization’s 20 Community Partners, plus foundations and individual donors, for delivering affordable programs and scholarship funds. “Your attendance at our concerts helps us with that mission,” she added.
Donna is among 13 continuing FSYO board members. The FSYO also welcomed six new board members for the upcoming season. They are:
- Don Lake: Vice President Private Banking for TD Wealth, and father of an FSYO student musician.
- Tracy Richardson: Director of Special Projects for WKMG, and Producer for ClickOrlando.com.
- Stephen Schenck: President of Spinnaker Technology, Oviedo City Councilman, and father of an FSYO student musician.
- Josh Wilson: Digital Marketing Coordinator for Astonish Results.
- Jennifer Frank: President and Owner at Jennifer C. Frank, PA.
- Doreen Licitra: Self-Employed (electronic medical records implementation), and an FSYO alumni parent.
