
Orlando, FL - April 8, 2026 Florida Symphony Youth Orchestras (FSYO) is kicking off its Platinum Season by going on tour with 70 young musicians to New York City in June 2026. Highlighting its 70 years of musical excellence, FSYO’s Tour Orchestra and Tour Jazz Band will be taking a five day, four night tour to the Big Apple, marking the Tour Jazz Band’s debut in the city that is referred to as one of the cornerstones of jazz.
For the Tour Jazz Band's inaugural NYC appearance, these young musicians will learn from Jazz at Lincoln Center (JALC) seasoned clinicians, participate in an evening jam session at Dizzy’s Club, and perform at The Jazz Gallery on June 21st at 11:00am. Meanwhile, the Tour Orchestra will return to Carnegie Hall for the third time with their performance in the renowned Isaac Stern Auditorium! This performance will take place on June 21st at 8:30pm and will feature works by Shostakovich, Sibelius, Berlioz, and Rachmaninoff.
“When considering the options for this summer’s tour, I found it fitting to kick off our Platinum Season in one of the most renowned concert halls in the country, Carnegie Hall, to commemorate our 70 years of musical excellence. Then in Spring 2027, we are looking to wrap up the season with a performance in Orlando’s renowned concert hall, Steinmetz Hall. I am excited to celebrate FSYO’s growth and achievements from the past 70 years with the community, and it all kicks off at our NYC Tour Send Off Concert!”

FSYO is dedicated to “empowering young musicians to achieve excellence and inspire their communities through a shared love of music”. Its Summer Tour Program offers its members the unique opportunity to share their passion for music around the globe and showcase their talents with new audiences. Recent past tours include both domestic and international tours to Japan, Chicago, Italy, and China to name a few.
To celebrate the beginning of this milestone season, FSYO invites the public to a free Send Off Concert featuring the programs that will be performed at world renowned venues in New York City. Join these talented young musicians at 7:00pm on June 16th at Valencia College East Campus and witness the start of a great season!
